How do I book a consultation with
Vet On The Net?
- Head over to https://vetonthenet.com/book-consultation
- Select the ‘Reason group’ and then the ‘Reason’ for the appointment from the drop-down menu.
- Choose the desired date and time of the consultation from the diary.
- Enter your details and the animals details on the online form. It’s important to use the same email address and name that is on your PBI insurance policy and reference your PBI policy number. In the ‘Notes for the Vet’ section, add any medical history and the following code PBIVET2021 to get one of your three complimentary consultations with a vet.
- Click ‘Confirm Appointment’
- You will receive an appointment confirmation email from Vet On The Net and a separate email and text message will come through with your video link just before your session starts.
- Just click on the link at your appointment time and you will be connected straight to the vet.
- After the consultation, you will receive an email with a consultation summary report from the vet. This consultation summary will also be sent to PBI so they can validate your free consultation.
If you need to cancel your appointment, you just need to email patient@vetonthenet.com.
What pet problems can Vet On The Net
help with?
There are many things the vets at Vet On The Net can help you with! The list includes:
- Skin Problems;
- Ear and eye problems;
- Gastrointestinal upsets (vomiting and diarrhoea);
- Loss of appetite;
- Mild lameness;
- Coughing and Sneezing;
- Minor injuries such as small cuts, burns and grazes;
- Urinary tract problems such as blood in urine;
- Toxicity advice; or
- First Aid Advice.
There are however some issues that a remote consultation may not be useful for. In the following situations you should call your local vet or local pet emergency service instead:
- Prescription medication requests;
- Major traumas (e.g. hit by car);
- Bloated stomach in larger breed dogs;
- Breathing difficulties;
- Animals that cannot pass urine at all;
- Pets that are having a seizure / fitting; or
- Rabbits that are not eating or passing faeces normally.
Do note:
- Vet On The Net cannot prescribe prescription medications, such as pain relief and antibiotics for pets you are looking after. They can however recommend a whole range of different medications that you can get delivered direct from their online shop!
- Consultations only cover the pets under your care that are owned by your customers.
Terms of Business (the “TOB”):
Pet Business Insurance (“PBI”) is providing policyholders with a trial service to utilise Vet On The Net to provide help and support if they have an issue with a pet that they are looking after.
Vet On The Net has been selected by PBI to provide complimentary online video veterinary consultations for PBI policyholders. Existing policyholders with a recognised PBI account (an “Authorised User”) can access the service here: https://vetonthenet.com/book-consultation. An Authorised User includes only existing PBI policyholders and new PBI policyholders, each with a recognised PBI account.
Each Authorised User is entitled to three (3) Vet On The Net consultations . Any subsequent consultation, consultations or related services will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Authorised User’s insurance policy (“Insurance Policy”), with each subsequent consultation costing £24.
Vet On The Net will provide a copy of all of the Authorised User’s notes to PBI so that PBI’s claims department have full visibility of a consultations outcome.
PBI is trialling this service for three (3) months. Vet On The Net will not be included or listed in an Authorised User’s Insurance Policy until such time that PBI has permanently included the Vet On The Net service.
THIS IS A TRIAL SERVICE. PBI OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY LIABILITY IN ANY FORM WHATSOEVER FOR ANY CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LOSSES, EXPENSES, COSTS, OR LIABILITIES WHATSOEVER, RESULTING OR ARISING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM AN AUTHORISED USER’S USE OF OR INABILITIY TO USE VET ON THE NET OR ANY SERVICES LINKED TO IT.
Unless stated within the TOB (Terms of Business), an Authorised User’s Insurance Policy remains unchanged. If there is a conflict between the TOB (Terms of Business), and an Authorised User’s Insurance Policy, the Insurance Policy shall be determinative.
